Quick photoshop warm up. This character is “Jim” from the comic “Youth” created by the talented duo Evan Peter and Alex Dandino. Go check it out, it’s pretty pimp. Not your average superhero comic book ! http://youthcomicbook.blogspot.fr/

I’ve been sketching a lot lately. Mainly because I finally grew the balls to work on big issues I had with my drawing skills. You might have seen the project I’m currently working in this blog. Well, I put it on hold to work out some problems. Clothes were atrocious, camera angles were astonishingly boring… I feel like I can draw it so much better, if I only I sit down and work on this things I’ve neglected for far too long.

In the meanwhile, I stopped focusing on american comics (even though I’ve been analyzing Sean Gordon Murphy’s art for a couple of months) and started looking at different things. Hence the huge difference between these doodles and the stuff I was doing before.

Artists like Katsuya Terada, Kim Jung-Gi, Kozaki Yusuke, Katsuhiro Otomo, Moebius, Bertrand Gatignol or Larcenet really inspire now. Maybe I’ll finally be able to achieve a blend between european, american and asian trends.

One can only dream.
